ABOUT US

Meet BUNZIE creators, Erica & Stephanie!  Two physician assistant sisters with big hearts, just trying to make parenting a little bit easier while ensuring clean products...and clean fingers!

Meet the Founders

Erica is a mom of two and has spent the last 8 years practicing medicine in a dermatology office. She has diagnosed and treated countless skin conditions, but after becoming a mom she was frustrated with how often her kids got diaper rashes and that is when she had her ah-ha moment! She knew that there needed to be something better out there for moms on the go when applying cream to their little ones. Knowing just how easily germs spread she saw an opportunity to create an elegant contactless way to apply a diaper rash cream.

Stephanie, Erica’s older sister and also a mom of two little girls, is a certified physician assistant who graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine. She currently specializes in dermatology and has a strong background in Emergency and Aesthetic Medicine. As the wife of a firefighter who spends many days as a single parent, she is constantly looking for mom hacks to make her life easier. When Erica came to her with the BUNZIE idea, she couldn’t believe it hadn’t been done before and she was all in! Stephanie is passionate about preventative medicine and helping each of her patients live a beautiful, healthy, and clean life. She is excited to help create an all-in-one innovative diaper rash cream with a contactless applicator and is honored to now be able to reach parents outside of her practice.

The BUNZIE Story

One fine evening, Erica was prepping her kids for bed when she noticed a terrible rash while changing her daughter’s diaper. Naturally, she picked up her diaper rash cream, squeezed the thick sticky paste on her finger, and spread it all over her daughter’s sore bottom. As always, she went to the sink, washed her hands, and went about her bedtime routine.

Later in the night, she sat watching her favorite sitcom (which we will spare you the name of for reputation preservation) while eating popcorn. She finished up, licked her fingers clean, and interestingly enough started to taste a funky chemical taste. She looked down and was disgusted with what she saw! That thick, white diaper rash paste wedged under her fingernails— she immediately wanted to hurl! Despite being a Physician Assistant, living through a worldwide pandemic, and knowing exactly how to effectively and properly wash her hands, the zinc is nearly impossible to wash off completely.

That night, she went to bed and had a dream about an easy diaper rash cream applicator. She woke up and instantly called her sister, Steph, to tell her about the dream and let’s just say the rest is BUNZIE history! This is for all the moms out there who don’t want yucky white paste under their fingernails!
